Robert Burns M.D., MPH
Dr. Robert Burns started his career in medicine as an airborne medic in the U.S. Army. He spent several years working as a paramedic and flight paramedic in both military and civilian air medical units prior to attending medical school.
Dr. Burns attended medical school at American University of the Caribbean which included his 3rd year medical school clinical rotations in Ireland and his 4th year of medical school clinical rotations in Detroit, Michigan. He did an internship year, anesthesiology residency and pain medicine fellowship in Miami, Florida.
This varied and distinct training background has given him the opportunity to work with patients from very diverse backgrounds.
Dr. Burns is board certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine. He has a Master's Degree in Public health and is a member of the Amercian Public Health Association and the Florida Public Health Association.
He has extra training in hormone health, addiction, and weight management. He has Commercial Pilots' licenses for single and multi-engine aircraft.
Dr. Burns relocated to Tallahassee in 2009 and worked with Pain Management Specialists prior to starting his own practice.
